@thefinn @Paleface @madcuzbad If you account for race at that age bracket, whites are a serious minority. So my guess is the illiteracy level of whites at that age is 10-12%. In Greece its 8% and its pretty accurate as gypsies don't make it to 4th grade, immigrant kids are 12% but half of that are slavs/Albanians/Russians etc. So tje non whites are +-6%. So i guess we're at 7%+- for just greek kids.

I am witnessing this with my almost 16 year old daughter. She has a large group of friends, and none of them read well. My daughter tested at first year of college in Language Arts and spelling when she was ten, but never reads. She says “It‘s the ADHD and Autism I can’t be expected to concentrate on anything I’m not interested in reading!” They’re sneaking around with weed making themselves dumb. The consequences of all this on the future is indeed not good. My daughter is full of potential.
