This is your daily reminder to refrain from operating power tools while under the influence of... Well anything more than a moderate dose of caffeine, really.

@GrumpyOldNurse I work with teenagers. They are full of bright ideas. One was complaining today that I wouldn't let him drink paint and wanted to see what would happen if he poured water on the printer. Yes, he is coded. No, I don't have a tech with him in the Art room.

@Fullycaffeinated That seems like a ridiculous oversight on the part of tptb. There are ever so many interesting sharp things and chemicals in an art room, it seems to me like a tech would be more... Um... life preserving in art class than in math class. At least until he's studying trig.

@GrumpyOldNurse I also teach him in French. He has a tech there. To be fair, there are only 13 kids in that class and when you add up the codes it counts as a full one.

@Fullycaffeinated Again. Fewer sharp bits and chemicals in French class than in the art room. And people wonder why I advocate for the torture of bureaucrats.

@GrumpyOldNurse I had him last year as well. Had to find the keys to lock all the cabinets and drawers because when he was bored (or the spirit moved him or whatever), he would just rummage through them. And yes, lots of sharp things and stuff you shouldn't ingest.I don't think he would actually drink anything, he mostly seems to enjoy arguing with me about why he shouldn't.It doesn't help that the other art teacher leaves shit all over the place that I would store in the locked storeroom.

@Fullycaffeinated I should add, cocaine definitely counts in the 'no power tools' category.I don't care how much you use at camp.

@Fullycaffeinated (20 hour shifts don't happen in a vacuum, for those of you unfamiliar with the resource extraction economy)

@GrumpyOldNurse @Fullycaffeinated I once worked for a crew that sold speed from the HQ, it didn't involve power tools or machinery, but others might have been using vehicles. I appreciated the honesty, but resented they were putting business expenses onto the employee.

@GrumpyOldNurse @Fullycaffeinated Wish I could tell you, but my bookkeeping was definitely lax on that one.

@Jont_K @Fullycaffeinated That's why coke and meth are so popular in the camps around here. Of course, last time I gently suggested maybe operating a giant excavator wired on coke in the 120th work hour of your work week might not meet OHSA guidelines, I was told to mind my own business and just tell him what the damn ECG said.

@Jont_K @Fullycaffeinated Spoiler; the ECG said "I foresee a long air flight in your future".
