@shibao still happens to me. Some shit I've never gotten over, like pathological obsession with avoiding even one single drop of water reaching the floor before/during/after a shower, because doing so meant Lecture Timeā„¢ for the next 40 minutes. Hell it took till my early 40s to find it acceptable to throw away food that was unwanted but not yet spoiled, because "there's starving kids in Africa" or some such white liberal savior nonsense.

@shibao it takes a long time. a lot happens inside a developing mind, and unfurling it after the fact is a lengthy and often taxing process. gaining points of comparison to realize how insane their behavior is can take a really long time too

@mischievoustomato @shibao I wouldn't say mine were awful, just very much not well-adjusted. Everyone's broken in a different way. Like my mom would freak the fuck out screaming and crying if water spilled on the kitchen floor, like a single paper towel's worth of water you can clean up in four seconds, probably because her parents would flip shit for it.

@shibao one of the best things I ever did was block every person I went to high school with on Facebook in like 2009

@prettygood @shibao I did this by deleting my facebook in 2011, none of the failures who went to my small town high school can ask me for money or to watch their children
