       @sjb of course it does. It cannot hope to defeat a united NATO so its only hope is to sow discord between its members until it de facto falls apart.The problem is that European countries cannot send their navies to Greenland like Pentagon wants until their voters are sufficiently angry at Trump, hence the silly sword-rattling.

       @wolf480pl I'm also wondering if Trump is doing this as a distraction from something else - possibly the lack of progress on Ukraine "peace deal" - so he creates a fake emergency near Greenland.
