       @FredKiesche what's your thoughts on Social Standing for PCs?I don't think it fits the theme.  Sure Noble, but Disgraced Noble, or Once Noble, or Ursurped Noble fits much better.  Why bust your ass if you're already doing quite well for yourself, simply by being born?A man(woman)without a country.Space Robin Hood, I get.Regular PC Noble, with status and everything?        @herrold Look at the role of the second (third, fourth, etc.) child in a nobility. See SF versions such as “Mote in God’s Eye”.Alternatively: swap “noble” for “industrialist” or “executive” and the like. Or, adopt what Cthulhu RPG did with Credit Rating.

       @FredKiesche yes, but the theme of the game, the built in crux - starship mortgage/starship foreclosure... doesn't work if you're upper class and maybe the most important part, a Player Character.Noble npcs?  Sure.  Have at it.PCs?  Nope.  Ruins the whole reason to take risks to make that spaceship mortgage.I don't care what stories have noble characters in them.  Do they have to pay off a starship?  No?#Traveller #ttrpg

       @herrold @FredKiesche It works quite fine. Do you know how many nobility on our planet were operating in the red, in deep debt to other nobility for pretty much the entirety of our history? Armies have warred across continents in order to reduce or eliminate debts.Nobility is no guarantee of liquidity.
