       punk rock is weird. you can be totally original and transgressive, form an octet that does noise rock third wave renditions of ‘the rites of spring’ on power tools and an oboe and everyone is all “that’s rad!”, but if you wear the wrong jacket or boots you’re a total poser.

       ftr, iceburn recorded ‘the rites of spring’ with traditional instrumentation plus saxophone but when i saw them at the peoperpot cafe in c. ‘96 that had an angle grinder and an oboe and it was fucking rad. i wore an ma-1 flight jacket and doc 1460s. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp9d1cqn3gM
