However, due to the lagginess of Cowboy's internet connection, combined with Randbot's insistence on using a laggy buggy RAM-hungry Windows operating system (combined with OBS), it would sometimes lead to the misunderstanding that Cowboy was 'talking over' Rand. Rand's increasing grouchiness - and harsh words - over this tech-issue was exacerbated by a valiant Nietzschean effort by himself to kick the nicotine habit. Over time this misunderstanding led to a bit of an unfortunate contretemps and thus the sad aforementioned 'parting of the ways'. Both men privately expressed regret that it had come to that, much like the brief parting between Jeeves and Wooster described by the late great PG Wodehouse. Some attempts to heal the rift were made by such as Southern Dingo (a thousand blessings be upon him) but so far has led to nought. I myself have some great clips from those glory days mentioned by the OP.

There are not enough of us to be seriously falling out over such things. I have low interest in, and tolerance for , 'drama'. I remember reading that the *one* tactic that worked for the glowies was sowing distrust among the right online, made easier by the fact there are few IRL meetups and many anons.

He's clearly a good friend, but the comedy dynamic between you two rarely seems to exist anymore. It's more like listening to two bitter drunks in a bar complaining to each other about how smart they are. I really wish you guys could walk that back some to how you used to be. Smiley has been pretty steady, a good mix of comedy and commentary, but it seems like his engagement is waning. There's too many times where he is sitting in the call doing something else just to end up giving the Irish goodbye. I know the latter is on brand, but the former is usually him waiting for you guys to just kind of stop raging, from my perspective. Panko and Content Consumer are both good. Panko is always willing to roll with lighthearted jabbing and being the occasional butt of the joke. Content Consumer is usually really positive and brings a Podunk charm to the show; he's probably the one who treats the show like a comedy the most out of anyone. Their only problem is they're both "drop-ins" and thus have a fairly limited time on the show. As far as the recent re-addition of Nolsy. Just why, bro? And please don't repeat the "he's a journalist" tripe. There's nothing good that's going to come of having him around. I get you want to be friends, but come on, man. He strikes me as really insincere, and I think you're setting yourself up for another fail. And, in general, imo you need to detatch yourself from these old beefs and move on. It's not good content when you spend hours feeding trolls who are clearly just trying to be malicious, or bring in retards who sperg so hard that you basically are speaking to each other but not truly interacting. Even if it was good content, it brings out the worst aspects of your personality. You get smug, and defensive, and you stop being fun. You know, if you want to try to pursue some sort of relationship with these people, fine, I guess. It seems like most of them are just trying to fuck up your life/head, but OK. Just don't make it part of the show. That's your livelihood, brother. And it's like you're trying to drama stream, but you're fighting with people nobody really cares about, on a show that's supposed to be comedic. Make jokes, don't be the joke. I think between Spartan and Smiley, you have a pretty good foundation, and you guys have put out great content in the past. But there have been way too many dysfunctional shows lately. The thing about the Cube, whether the official one or the technical Randian phenomena of Cube-formation, is that Rand has little to do with whoever actually becomes a part of it. Since the start Rand has kept a pretty-much open door policy on who pops onto his show. Frankly, it's sort of miraculous that he hasn't gotten more of a shitshow out of it than he has. But Rand opens the door, and various internet vagabonds show up and invite themselves in. The only real selection process going on is whoever feels comfortable enough jabbering in internet-public goes in, and in soft terms whoever actually enjoys Rand enough to show up based on who he is and his comedy. This, invariably, has yielded a crop of loud autists that form the Cube of the season. Autists who are attracted to Rand's show out of autistic-fellowship, and Autists lacking enough self-conscious inhibitions to jabber on in public. Not everyone who has gone into the Cube has been so, but the disproportionate rate leans towards autism. And not all of the autists are as bad as the one guy whose name I cannot remember who would be incredibly retarded all the time (I understand that is being far too general given how many there have been over the years), but there's nothing except Rand's seldom-but-explosive eruptions of genuine anger to slough them off. If they choose to show up, they show up.Finally, Rand gets puppy-piled by these people. Most of them are just so excited to be talking to and joking with a genuine Australian shitposter that they trample all over him and his show. Rand is autistic - he needs to run his little toy train the way he wants to or he's going to have a melty. But he's a gentle boy, a sweet shitposter, and obviously finds it difficult to firmly, directly, yet reasonably set boundaries. Instead he relies on dismissive comments, comedic insults, and indirect expressions of exasperation - all which are interpreted by the troublesome Cubic Moreen types as just more jokes from the funny man. Do it again, funny man! Make me laugh more, funny man! Funny man, me me me! The Rand get buried in excited little puppies shitting all over him, and he drowns in their retarded affections until he throws a fit and punts the puppies all over the place.Rand has the charisma and humor to put on a great comedy show, but he can further benefit from laying down structures that encourage good guests and cohost participation, developing some techniques to manage unruly chitter-chatter in a friendly and entertaining way, and practicing keeping to his own show-flow instead of decaying into barstool miserating. Most of this stuff has to be considered and worked on in private, because Rand like most people is not going to be able to endure confronting shortcomings in front of a braying audience. And he will either do this difficult work, and more besides, to salvage and improve his show - or he will continue to slowly decay down until it is back to the laundromat with our delightful shitposter. That would suck, and be a great shame given Rand's talents, but that would be the result of his implicit choices. As fun and personally satisfying as it is to go down to the bar and bitch with The Boys, it has wasted many a man and what could have been of him.
