       I'm a mark ass dog lover. Saw a Rottie with a hapsburg jaw and a beautiful pumpkin head at shelter. I now have a 100 pound rottweiler sitting in my house, drooling. 5 day trial adoption. My other dog is working line and those sorts of dogs are tricky to integrate with.

       @creature — it helped me when an experienced trainer reminded me that it takes about a year for a new pet to fully integrate into the household. And I heard from someone here on NAS that it takes at least three months before a rescue begins to relax enough that you see their true personality. Keeping those longer timelines in mind sure helped me manage my expectations with our newest livestock guardian dog.Wishing you good fortune and God’s speed as your dogs learn to coexist. :D

       @MountainJay Family dog is a 90 pound female doberman from Serbia. She should be the submissive. Knows 10+ hand commands...Locked in 24\7.  Rottweiler is insanely intelligent and of a good line. No idea how he wound up in a shelter. I've already got him trained up with the leash. The two are working things out. Sketchy foreign guy with bronzier tan came in while I was adopting  asking for "Samwise" (his name) . If I can't make this work he might get thrown to fairfax county dog ring.
