@aral been following you for years and this is the first time I see you "on the verge" of ditching macOS.So my question is: do you think Linux is ready to take "us" on? And if it is, would you go mac running Linux, or would you ditch Apple entirely?I recently started running Fedora on a 2019 MacBook Air 2019 to see if abandoning macOS is feasible. Haven't tested enough to have an opinion yet.

@aral Apple's design culture they had and which was pretty good one back in the days, sadly died long time ago, together with the passing away of Steve Jobs.

@aral @RosaCtrl I left MacOs to Linux when Apple started to be bad, 5-6 years ago, after 30 years of Mac (Mac plus in 1988).

@aral @RosaCtrl Yup. I’m planning on installing UBUNTU on my old Mac. Looking at e-OS for phone/tablet and either Mailbox.org or Tutamail for mail/Calendars etc

@aral @RosaCtrl I don’t care that much if my phone looks ugly. That’s not what deters me from upgrading. I don’t want AI. I don’t want my phone’s performance to suffer, forcing me to trade it in for a phone with AI.
