ICE and Border Patrol do not need a warrant from a normal state or federal judge. Other courts have no jurisdiction over immigration matters. Immigration judges determine if someone can stay or go, and if they determine the illegal (or other foreigner) has to go, an order of removal is issued. That takes the place of a normal warrant. If ICE has an order of removal for an individual, and they have reason to believe that person is in a particular place, they can and will enter that place to look for him/her and take them into custody. That means the people creating all the sturm und drang about "and they don't even have a warrant!!!!!" are either ignorant of the law, or lying shit stirrers.If the man they took into custody isn't the one they are looking for and is in the country legally, he will almost certainly be released in a timely fashion, assuming he has committed no other crime. If he has committed some other crime (including resisting arrest or interfering in their investigation) he maybe held and charged for that crime. The same goes for the woman.While I have myself never committed a felony, I've lived around those that have for many years. This means that I have unfortunately had a number of interactions with the police: local, state, task force, the feds at least once, and even bounty hunters. They've come into my house or place where I was working, sometimes with guns drawn, and I've been cuffed and detained a few times. None of those incidents were particularly pleasant. But I was never beaten, nor was I abused beyond what was necessary to detain me. I was not thrown to the ground, pepper sprayed, or clubbed. I was not taken to jail. I did not fear for my life. Between that and his other health problems he is in almost constant pain. He often has problems walking to the bathroom, sometimes has problems holding a spoon. He no longer has enough control over his hands to text. When he talks there are days he repeats himself over and over, like a record skipping. Sleepy a lot. Sometimes he just passes out. I know he often wishes he was dead.I'm almost certain the clot shot contributed to his current condition, even if it wasn't totally at fault. This fucking thing basically took my brother from me. I will never, ever forgive the people that created and released this thing, nor will I ever forgive the people who pushed this shot, this supposed cure or therapy or whatever the hell they're calling it now. It tore my family apart, emotionally, mentally, physically. It took my brother from me, it nearly killed him. It reduced him to a pain wracked invalid. It took a capable man and turned him into a weak, confused, wreck who sits in a chair all day and prays for death.When I go back and forth with Jeff, I try to keep it relatively civil. I keep reminding my self he isn't responsible, that he's just another brain washed dupe, like that woman who was shot in Minneapolis. But it's hard, so damned hard. There are evil men out there who bare a good share of the responsibility for my brother's fate, and I want nothing more than to wrap my hands around their throat. I want some justice. Thankfully in Brazil the first shot available was the Chinese one, which seems to have been just a placebo, so no one I know who took it against my pleading had any issues.
