       the bible project feels like a bit of a relic. evangelicalism has been rotten for a long time but theres a latent wokeness within it that was largely extinguished under trump and biden.

       @lizzie I remember when I first started researching Christianity I kinda just looked up "entire Bible explained" and ended up watching a few of Bible project's videos and thought "I don't like how much I'm liking these". So yea without Bible project I might not have become Christian.

I became christian because I was a talib-ul 'ilm in Islam, and that gets really dark and fucked up when you get a year into the study and find out it's basically impossible to go straight to jannah unless you're a martyr or fought in a military jihaad. And uh... yeah, no thanks. Basically, my fitrah said "God is Merciful and loves you" and Qur'an and Sunnah said "buuuuurn biatch!" and I couldn't reconcile those, because my brain works as well as can be expected. And then I was reading the Bible (because of trying to argue with a christian about something), and saw a really solid example of love and mercy that isn't found anywhere in Islam, and that convinced me.Also, if anyone is worried about my sincerity, it's literally life-threatening to leave islam and proclaim any other faith and I'm basically risking my life to say that Jesus died for my sins. So, I don't think anyone need be concerned for my sincerely, but prayers for my safety are welcome.

       @pr1ncess @luce-anon they really operate on a framework of the gospel as healing the world rather than “say some words to get a personal out of hell free card”. a lot of my current interpretation of christianity is influenced by them. when i was drifting away from evangelicalism i was like “are they even actually evangelical anyway?” and the answer is still apparently yes as far as i can tell
