       @futurebird seasonal family recipe cards encode the ritual, but the information slowly decays. what's sold as mincemeat is something else now. Oleo? we use butter. rosewater? sub vanilla. you probably dont need to sift the flour. They're waiting expectantly for the year it no longer coheres.
