@DireGoy I wonder how many old people there are that are really arguing like that. Perhaps Americans are really retarded because there are not one senior in Sweden who doesn't understand inflation.Since they are the first one to get hurt by it. Their pension is always the last to get raised, so even if they didn't understood inflation, which they do, since they do their own shopping, they certainly feel the full weight of it.I have a hard time believing that American Seniors are retarded.

@EvolLove @DireGoy They understand inflation when it comes to "why do my bills keep going up?" But when it comes to things like paying their employees, they go "$30 an hour? Minimum wage is 7.25 and I'd pay you less if I could. I made $1.25 an hour and you should have to start there too."

All ages, all generations.They are all accused of being selfish fucks. Some of them are. @DireGoy Confirmed my mother-in-law does not understand inflation. She once told my wife about he she made money with a 4% investment during the Biden 6% inflation period. My wife tried to explain how she actually lost money, and it fell on deaf ears.

@vonzeppelin @DireGoy I work at an auto shop as the shuttle driver and an emissions test tech. I can do tire stuff, too, and I do the detailing for their sale cars. I also clean the building after-hours and I film some stuff for their social media. I also do customer details on the side when I have time.

@ACL9000 @vonzeppelin There's a lot of technician jobs out there and companies that offer free on the job training. I got into Garage Door installation several years ago. We did on the job training for the basics but the rest was learn as you go. It's a dirty, sweaty kind of job but it's very satisfying work and pays well when you get good at it.Another one I was looking at was Culligan Quench and they're nation wide. They were offering full training to install and repair water cooler machines.

My first big job was $45k ... in 2007, when a tri-level apartment was $525 a month. Same place would easily go for $1500+ today in the same part of town.Inflation is not a natural part of the economy. None of the inflation would have happened had the US not printed insane amounts of money from 2020 on-wards. It lowered the value of everyone's money when the government just prints. It's government counterfeiting its own money and it's and theft. Inflation does not have to happen. We've been tricked into thinking it does.
