       @lucas I haven't try this particular setup, but it should work (in theory). It would very slow implementation, however.

       @catsalad I mean, yeah, but I also have never tried just piping bits into a cd burner, I always kinda assumed you needed specialized software to actually write to it.

       @catsalad Decades upon decades ago - in the 1970s I think - Mark Kampe at UCLA set up a Unix system to swap onto DECtape.The poor tape drive looked like it was suffering from an epileptic fit, but it all worked, albeit somewhat slowly.We once built an iSCSI based RAID 5 array using USB flash drives.
