@mushroom_soup That job in 1970 didn't need multiple references, an online resume, or a hour long online personality test to get hired either.

@Morghur @mushroom_soup just wait 20 years...There isnalready a staffing shortage in a few sectors around here. Not a few thousands, a few PERCENTS and companies have to cancel orders. If the EU wasn't such a fuckup the shortage would already be in the double digits.

Problem, at leats that i saw a lot in several sectors, is that boomoids are unwilling to take people at face value for entry level positions since they don't want to spend time training them. One because they will hav an employee that is not as productive for a while and because the employee might leave later if he finds a better job. They are unwilling to take the risk over losses that might not happen

@Morghur @mushroom_soup My dad loves telling the story of how grandpa gave him a Dodge Charger at 16. And then he bought a Firebird at 17. It makes me scream.

@CapitalB @Morghur @mushroom_soup Keep an eye on the air industry in general, most pilots are about to retire and companies are having to beg them to stay because they somehow got away with not training new pilots for 60 years
