Re: Midlands Police using AI to make operational decisions. Certain professions should be banned from using AI until the underlying model no longer hallucinates(I.e. is not based on LLM). Namely civil servants and any legal or law adjacent profession. We can't afford to have civic life controlled by buggy software. There's a new Post Office type scandal brewing here.

humans that have hallucinations are kept in special medical institutions for mental problems and get medical care and treatment. they don't make any decisions for whatever.

every human hallucinates and makes cognitive mistakes much more than simple linear model, this is well-known fact in cognitive scienceshumans are stupid

@ninesigns@birdity.club Making mistakes is normal for sensible beings and doesn't make them stupid. But models are not sensible at all, so you're just comparing apples and oranges. That's stupid indeed.

normal =/= optimalnormal =/= rationalit is normal for humans to be stupidgiven all data models perform better than humans

@ninesigns@birdity.club Comparing intelligence to stochastic models is neither normal nor rational.

if linear regression performs better than human at decision making the comparison absolutely makes sense

@ninesigns@birdity.club Looks like you're unable to figure out even the simplest rationale. Are you a fucking LLM?
