       The Time Machine Ch.9"I had been without sleep for a night and two days."  Literally everything bad that happens in this chapter could have been avoided if you just took a nap at lunchtime dummy🤦‍♂️We get another clash of darkness and light, this time between the darkness of the new moon and the brilliance of flame.  It's a shame our traveler missed out on Smokey the bear by a half century or he would have known not to leave a fire unattended.  Another rash decision on his part and now the fire has grown out of control, from a tool to provide warmth and safety to a new threat even more dangerous that what dwells in the darkness.  If only my man had taken that nap.  I refuse to accept little Weena's demise.  As they say about movies, if you don't see it happen then the person is not dead.  We've got an underground rescue attempt coming @ShowMeYourLibrary  I can feel it.  "Upon my left arm I carried my little one, in my right hand I had my iron bar."  An eternal truth confirmed even after almost a million years of human experience, ladies...must...be...portable.

       The audiobook was 3 hours and 24 minutes long which of course I listen to on one and a quarter speed so it actually took about 2 hours and 45 minutes to listen to . I'm wondering if it was an unabridged version or if it was a shortened version now.
