Gold is more of a proxy of value and that's what makes it a good medium of exchange. Gold is a good currency bc of it's consistency and incorruptability.But, just saying "muh precious metals fixes everything" doesn't get you very far. Exactly. The whole building should be designed to be difficult to penetrate when the doors are closed. It's not even that expensive; steel doors and concrete walls are standard in much of Latin America. He'd just need automatic door closers and a panic button at the security station(s).

No, a basic 1/4", reinforced steel door with a steel frame embedded in concrete and a some spring-loaded deadbolts will be good enough in this scenario. Not one though, but a bunch all along the route inside. Each one they have to open costs time and a breaching charge. How many C4 charges did they bring? How many troops can you bring up from behind while the commandos are fucking around with doors? At the very least, the commandos only carry so many bullets.Now let them try to breach a door while getting fired at from portholes. Now put a 3/4" door around the bedroom area, after the commandos have probably used their good shit. Put claymores in chokepoints, controlled remotely by the security room. Have quick-release overhead sand bags that fill foyers with sand (hope you brought some of those Russian Tactical Shovels). All this stuff and tons of other ideas are trivial and cheap if the security was halfway competent. It's not even getting into clever things like embedding explosive-reactive armor into the doors.
