@PNS i watched that whole clipand it hurt me the whole timei'm sort of an expert in this shitwhy didn't he turn the fuckin water off... also his valve puts him out of alignment for the mixing valve because he didn't cut the pipe back enough

@PNS I am not sure what I'm watching here. Should you not turn off the house main first? I live in Germany, the plumbers have a different training here

@dictatordave @PNS he doesn't need to cut the pipe back, this is obviously a stopgap matter because he can't get to the main valve I guess. He's decommissioned that bath tub for now. Said something about working on a furnace today so I bet his next project will be shutting off the main, getting a torch, & either replacing that elbow or resoldering it because it broke loose due to water hammer action.

@PNS @klaatu the domestic and heating water systems are completely separateyou'd need the domestic to fill the mechanical but if the boiler is being worked on that's shut off too.there's no isolation valves or a meter in this place, doubt? if its a rental i can see a meter not being accessible in the unit but typically you'd at least then have a set of valves to isolate the unitand sure, if its a rental, maybe the tenant doesn't know anything, but i'd assume they'd call the owner and the owner would direct them on who to call and where isolation valves are. and i've lived in a building with like 4 apartments and a couple times for service the building just had to be shut off for a few minutesnah dawg this guy is an amateur, a real plumber can telljust like how an electrician could probably tell that i'm not one

@pepsi_man @PJRedswan @PNS at the very very worst if you can't find any valve in the house, there's the street connection and a key can be rented or bought for very little money, or there's the freezing methodthis guy didn't know dick from fuck
