As the United States rapidly descends into authoritarianism, with federal forces illegally kidnapping people regularly and shooting civilians multiple times this calendar year alone, the government is also functionally imposing economic sanctions on its own cities. The colonial boomerang is coming back real hard these days. And damn, it must be great to be Xi Jinping right now.https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5682810-usda-fraud-minneapolis-funds/

@00Aaron No borders no country. Enforcing them is not illegal or authoritarian, it is sane.

Economic violence is a core tool of American Empire, and has been since the Cold War.I think that as the Untied States tears itself apart, it is happening not just with physical violence, but with things that resemble sanctions against its own people and institutions-- this is a trend that isn't being focused on that much, but we saw what happened with the universities. We're going to need alternative financial & monetary systems again, because that's currently VERY centrally controlled.
