       I wish we included people's cloud usage in their home power usage.it's easy to pretend e.g Netflix or Spotify uses less power than having a local NAS with movies/music/etc, when on the bigger picture I'm not sure if that's true.

       it's a complex interplay of things though.datacenters and centralisation are technically more efficient than running a million NASs.. ..if they're both running off the same coal energy...but if you consider having a few solar panels at home or live in a neighbourhood with a lot of solar/wind overproduction, it actually pays to offload/decentralise the datacenter power usage to individual homes.kind of tempted to make a little website to visualize and calculate this all with checkboxes etc
