I'm thinking this should be able to be confirmed by a couple of things:1. Satellite photos: Not trivial, but with some work you should be able to AI those into population estimates2. Food shipments: People eat, non-people don't eat3. Business directories: More people = more barber shops (for example), it's rough but it will give a general instinct about populations of local villages4. Taking per-village censuses and adding them up: if they're fiddling the numbers at the national scale, those numbers have to come from somewhere...

I'll concur in that security companies definitely don't have the best and brightest because:1. No one wants the job, and2. People who do want the job are of questionable loyalty,So most probably you find the soft underbelly is softer than you expected.That said, I *think* airports have some kind of answer to drones because they're too common at this point. In some, but not all cases the evolved version crowds out the more dangerous version by providing the infected with some level of immunity to the more deadly version.However, Ebola would be an example of a virus that mutates rapidly and is still deadly without treatment.
