note to self: introduce a completely pointless realtime day of the week mechanic early on. maybe just a menu at a store that only offers a special of the day and it's based on your computer clockforeshadow needing realtime puzzle fuckery later on with pointless silly gimmicks

wow this looks fucking trivial to do you're telling me i can literally just $gameVariables.setValue(5, new Date().getDay()); and now i know what day of the week it is by their computer clock? manhaving access to shit like this is crazy to me, i was mentally ready to have to write my own date interpreter like i would in assembly

jfc and i can just var hour = new Date().getHours();$gameVariables.setValue(6, hour >= 0 && hour < 3 ? 1 : 0); to check if they're playing at the right time in their computer time to trigger the thingwow it's so easy

@dwaltiz i've literally ever coded in javascript before, i'm used to assembly and C, that's why i was talking about having to code my own date interpreter

@dwaltiz like i'm out here mentally ready to count the days since 1978's new years and modulo 6 because that's what i'm used to

@All_bonesJones Huh? The C standard library should already have more than enough to handle the system's time. Were you crazy enough to recreate "time.h" from scratch?

@dwaltiz @All_bonesJones he's unc, he learned computers when dinosaurs were still roaming around and they didn't have integers greater than 8 bits

@Hyperhidrosis @dwaltiz yeah hidrosis gets it, there's no time.h in z80 assembly, you're stuck making your own from scratch. that's what i'm mostly used to

@All_bonesJones @dwaltiz I remember learning C, C# etc then later on going to assembly and being so miserable.then i switched to js and never looked back.

@Hyperhidrosis @dwaltiz js's weak typing drives me up a fucking wall. i know what i want, i want to compare an integer to an integer, but sometimes the integer magically becomes a string. got so sick of stupid errors like that i just like AI handle th syntax entirelyi'm not at home if i don't know what's where and why

@All_bonesJones @dwaltiz ts is true, dynamically typed data types are retarded.but most of the time for what im doing it doesn't get in the way. Got used to it ig.
