The thinkfriend is the only portable computer that can love you back. It is never too slow, too hot, low on battery nor does it fail to boot. It simply is, and is very good at it.

@lanodan @NanoRaptor oh I am very much aware of that, just that1) they are kind of hard to find in working shape for a reasonable price2) they aren't as capable as they used to be in this modern world3) I wish I could get a modern take on this form factor that doesn't cost an arm and a leg but is actually compatible with LinuxGPX Win devices get real close to solving point 3 but it sounds like running Linux on them is a royal pita and I don't want to use Windows 11

@techokami @NanoRaptor Oh yeah entirely so.Although on the Linux thing. GPD Micro cites Ubuntu Mate on the product page and https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GPD_MicroPC looks like the stuff you'd expect from most laptops so doesn't seems like an ARM situation.
