@mitchconner @coolboymew i know I've no idea i just the other day found mine going through some boxes and have been playing around with it but suddenly I'm seeing posts about it everywhere.. I assumed it was just the algorithms™ following me..but I think maybe cause it's really easy to mod with just an sd card, it's kinda the last real portable handheld and there's a online services emulator that lets u go online even after Nintendo's shut down it's been gaining traction maybe. wanted to get one for my husband too but they're so expensive now (๑﹏๑//)

@coolboymew @pea It's a perfectly good SOC, not emulation, they just set the clock speed wrong or something for the audio. If you load roms with Neto DOS, the pitch is corrected and it becomes equal to the Genesis 3.

@coolboymew @pea it's not actually dos, it's a preloader thing Neto made. He's the Sonic 2 Delta guy. It ships with it's own loader called Firecore. If you load roms with that the sound is messed up. If you load Neto MD-DOS from Firecore, and then the rom from there, it works great.

@pea @mitchconner @coolboymew 3dses (CTR models) are cheap as fuck on yahoo japan, maybe LLs are too. I got a cheap ass 3ds like a year or two ago, probably closer to 2 and I need to use it more.I went to a packed theater showing and I didn't streetpass anyone though.

@pea @coolboymew @mitchconner also the problem with handhelds at least with the post-PSP era ones is that the PSP and Vita sold massively more in Japan and the 3ds sold as much as it did there despite having a lower population. There's also less scalping in Japan for 3dses, and it's way cheaper to find the KTR-001 because the USA model was a limited run.

@coolboymew @mitchconner @pea that's the model number for the "new 3ds" that isn't the XL model (which in NA is mostly the only one sold), but in Japan they had a smaller model that had more made. I wish I got one I found at a pawn shop back in the day these are fucking expensive now in the USA but like $120-130 on YAJ
