@sickburnbro it makes some sense, and i see why the gov wants more home owners, more property taxes to jack upi just hope it doesn't trigger some 08 bullshit where people who can't remotely pay for a house are given houses and we're stuck with some bail outhilariously i had a fight with our retirement people last year, i wanted to take my money and put it into property and they were turbo karens about it

@sickburnbro robbing peter to pay paul. taking a 401k loan is a hazard to long term returns. you will be working double to make up those missed returns.

@dictatordave @sickburnbro It is simply saying you may be equipped with bigger knives to cut off your own limbs easier. A new homeowner clause already exists with taking loans on you 401k but it has a limit. They may remove the limit but that is a short term bump setting up for a long term disaster when everyone is reaching retirement age with weakened savings. Your "Karen" HR prevents you from taking a withdrawal because it is a heavily taxed event.

@sickburnbro Isn't the institutional investor ownership of single-family homes like 1-2% of the total? Banning them isn't going to do much if anything.

@Forgetful_Gynn that's the way it appears, yeah. Who knows if they are playing games. But the point I was making is that both sides saying that this is what they want isn't bad for normal americans.

@Forgetful_Gynn @sickburnbro Yes. This is a fake and easy win for trump. The institutional housing investors are already trying too un-ass all the housing that they overpaid for during COVID. The real estate bubble is already popping in some jurisdictions.
