@tiefling@bardicperspiration.club @Saorsa@neondystopia.world Its the modern shit that very often is insecure because of the lack of testing, Lack of review by security engineers, Untested bleeding edge tech, complicated libraries with lots of dependencies(Supply chain attack).I would say most modern software (If the older software is still maintained) is more insecure than older software that had years of development, IRC is from the 1988 so it had 37 years of active development and there are many daemons to pick from like UnrealIRCD or Inspirecd
