@winter yes, it's harder for "eggs" to find us, but that didn't stop us from finding places on the net on the 90s. i think it's stupid to depend on labels for community building when it's shown it makes us targets for government harassment. i understand your position, but mine is firmly anti-label and i will leave it at that.

You've never even known life in a pre-smartphone world. I think your position is informed primarily by the very luxuries afforded to you by the prevalence of these labels in the modern day. Don't destroy the fence if you don't know why it was built

@winter @fujoshi @patchuun im not that crazy abt identity but i think not labelin material opressions is doin the work of blurrin everythin into the same soykaf of default assimilation. sadly the default state of unlabel is not a neutral state nor can it be. we see this even in our own sphere with the prevalence of the transgender umbrella term and the transexual assimilation into it

@nyx @winter “labels are bad” catches both people that use labels to serve them and people that see their ego as in service of labelsazalea thinks its one of those situations where the real problem is elsewhere, but its something impossible to put into words or tie back to the obvious seeming-problem, so most criticisms focus on something else

@nyx @winter she was partly being a bit snarky but I think the meat of her point is genuine:I just wish there had been people around me openly identifying as things I am when i was young so I didn’t waste all my youth not knowing it was an option.
