       👀 Is there a usable and private #SearchEngine which has some kind of filter or at least some features to tackle or filter all the AI crap content flooding the net? I know about #MetaGer and #Kagi but both don't really seem to fit the bill... 🤔 #Privacy #AISlop #Enshittification #SearchEngine #Google #AI

       @arcadia Sadly doesn't cover my core problem: the (sometimes) obvious SEO AI slop sites when doing a normal web search.

       @cryptgoat We are currently building up @nolm ( https://nolm.eu ) which has LLM-free results as it's central goal. However it's still in it's infancy and currently in internal alpha. I'd expect public access in Q2 this year. I'll be sure to spread the news then.PS: After losing our main source of funding we are still looking for more association members to sustainably cover our costs of running and developing Nolm, MetaGer and other projects. Using MetaGer helps too.

       @cryptgoat I'm curious. Why not #metager ?

       @Fynn While I feeel quite sympathetic towards the #MetaGer project the quality of search result was lacking quite a bit back when the service was still free. Been years ago since I last used it so I dunno how things are these days (and how they tackle the AI slop problem).

       @chilli Can you elaborate on this? Their feature overview looks more like using AI/LLM stuff themselves for several features.

       @cryptgoat I think Kagi or Mojeek would serve you.

       @cryptgoat I see. I use #metager on a daily basis and am quite content. There is no AI slop, no dubious result ranking, no advertisement. And I can set permanent filters.

       @cryptgoat Also Kagi gibt sich da schon recht flexibel, finde ich:
