Story Idea:A priest with a crisis of faith. A strange guy who really needs a *real* priest to help him with his very questionable, not allowed holy(?) ritual that is also very long and maybe some of the books he's found it in are wrong. Priest says "no way. It's probably evil and I don't even know if anything is true anymore." But he talks to another priest who's like "humor him, he's just enthusiastic about God, bring him back to the path to find your faith."This is a terrible idea.

Now maybe a demon is on earth, or maybe the priest just has pareidolia about the weather, and the book with the "binding seal" is DEFINITELY incorrect. Anyway no more "crisis of faith" now it's just a crisis.Hijinks ensue.This is a buddy comedy, obviously.

@futurebird I think the demon should probably also be having a crisis in his commitment to evil. So the priest and the demon can compare notes about how they deal with their similar but opposite crises.

@futurebird Idea: A [fantasy|horror|sci-fi] setting with the normal physical impossibilities and tropes on tap that the genre expects, most people going with it and taking it all as given. ("Oh, magic's real.. Okay", "Oh, FTL and anti-gravity are possible? Okay")And a subset of lucid people are freaking out 'cause the best possible theory is that they live in a simulation because physics can't be "real" for all that (like causality violations, etc.) to happen.
