There’s this dude on TikTok putting entire timber logs into his stove and apparently it generates more heat and burns much longer when you don’t split it. He even lights them using two pieces of egg carton. Must try this, it seems.

@1a5cff5118d071a2c5d46534733abb9f3dcdfc41b24db0132fc20dbf01c75f78Unless your fireplace is built for it or won't help you.The amount of energy in each piece of firewood will not increase nor decrease depending on how fast it burns.Personally I advocate for a rather hot and quick burn rather than slow and less warm.But it is really up to your fireplace, how it is constructed.If anything after burning a bit hot and fast fire you can then add whole logs and let it burn for hours.
