This anthropomorphized framing of Grok in the media (claiming that Grok has "apologized") only serves the interests of these tech companies. @taylorlorenz Related: I just got duped (for a few minutes) by a deepfake video of Rachel Maddow on YouTube. only subtle body language cues gave it away. My suspicions were confirmed when the channel was taken down, but how many folks saw it and were duped? Youtube is becoming twitter, and we need an alternativewe need a dependable peertube source for news, folks. who can link a few here?

@Sassinake @taylorlorenz Interesting, I'd like to see that #RachelMaddow video if you still have the link.I get most of my news from #RSS feeds, #MSM audio feeds, and podcasts I trust. Deepfake videos don't get me because when I hear about news stories from other sources (such as #Instagram, #X or #Reddit), I always look up an actual article about it, rather than assuming that whatever I see at first blush is correct.
