MoneyMoney is important in life: it allows us to buy the things we want. It has replaced simple barter and has "simplified" our lives. The danger is that it becomes the main thing we want: in the constant rush to "want something more," we end up depriving ourselves of enjoyment, thinking, "Sooner or later I'll use it," or "Better to have a lot than a little so I can cover my back." There's a real danger of living our life "after" something, and (perhaps) we realize it only when it's too late. For example, when faced with death, money can do nothing. Very often, when faced with a debilitating or fatal illness, it can do very little, if anything at all. My aim isn't to preach too quickly, but rather to reflect on the priorities in our lives.

Money is debt and debt is guilt. In essence we are exchanging guilt. It is the abuse of that guilt which can make this very medium evil.
