@Dan_Ramos We have been purchasing alpaca wool socks ever since I found out how well they wick away moisture :)At first we got them from a local crafts lady who lived by my brother. She offered socks made by locals through her road-side home-based store.My brother moved, so we have no reason to go the 8 hours one way anymore... I stocked up before that happened :)

@Stuxnet1984Looked up the socks I get. Cheap-ass Anko quarter crew from Kmart. Material says Cotton and recycled polyester. Don't know how much of which. They have changed design recently, which prior to this has been the same for the last 20 years. So something has changed. @Dan_Ramos

@Dan_RamosDon't know I'd call it a conspiracy, since cotton doesn't wick moisture like wool or artificial fibers. I can definitely say the quality of cotton socks I can find has gone down drastically and they start falling apart within a few wears Cotton is the enemy to keeping warm in frigid weather.
