@monkey I find it to be a broadly accurate assessment of people who live materially comfortable lives and am able to separate that from my own pretty easily (I can't really afford to buy myself hollow consumer pleasures) but then again I've adapted to my conditions a bit too well and basically never experience joy or desire anymore lmao

@monkey amerikans as usual turning everything into a performance of protagonist syndrome puritanism instead of just accepting that ultimately as individuals our choices don't matter much and if anything the treatlerite meme should be seen as a critique to experience joys that are more substantial than spending money on garbage you don't need
