       @qivzung ideally, I would like that too, but if that's not possible, then you can find positions that at least give you windows of opportunity to at least sketch some ideas in private.

       @qivzung  My advice to you it to first stop thinking of yourself as chattel.  Second, stop using their polite terminology -- they're trying to enslave you, not offer you an opportunity to provide service.  Once you have decided to take charge of your destiny, perhaps you can then take a "vacation" overseas.  If you have family to go with you, it would be even more believable.

       @qivzung  Furthermore, I must warn against the other advice given in this thread, even if it may have been in jest.  There is no privacy in the military; if you attempt your hobby, you will be exposed and punished, perhaps extrajudicially, maybe even executed or lynched.

       @qivzung no good country has mandatory military service. a good country would have plenty of people willing to join and wouldn't even need to give incentives. sorry you gotta' do that.

       @qivzung  Or, if you do let them kidnap you, try to "accidentally" shoot your instructor in the ass during training.  Better to spend the rest of your stint in the brig than on a battlefield murdering other conscripts.
