@fiore Yes, the prices of RAM chips doubled, thus the cartel of a handful of businesses that manufacture NAND flash chips for SSD's decided to double the price as well and of course SSD manufacturers set that price for all existing stock, rather than selling remaining stock at the original price.Although, microSD cards have tended to resist price increases despite using very high-density flash - as people refuse to buy if the price is too high (although the cheapest microSD cards tend to be junk).

@coolbean @fiore NVMe drives are just flash SSD's, except the interface is PCIe instead of SATA.Those typically tend to use slightly higher quality NAND chips (that have good r/w speeds) and also typically use a somewhat large RAM cache for speedups - thus the price of RAM and decent NAND doubling clearly isn't good for prices.

@fiore ive got an old 1tb one if you wantand another 500i wanted to check their smart info to see how much more life they have in them before i partitioned them for my new setup ca. 2 years ago and then i never actually did that because prior to that i put in my old nvidia gpu to see if it still worked and unplugged them to make room while putting in my regular gpu again (and forgot to plug them back in which i didnt notice until i went ahead with the new setup to check things with smart)
