I'm the person in the supermarket who rummages to the back of the shelves to find loaves of bread with longer dates. Why shouldn't I? I want it last me the week and the ones at the front last two days, at most. Why should I pay full price if I'm gonna throw half of it away?

@fesshole Looks like a bias toward critical comments. I also do this, especially with Lettuce. I do it with bread and put it in the fridge. But it goes the other way with meat, since discounts make it affordable when it's about to expire. We all have to make tactical decisions as we shop in NZ, where the supermarkets are owned by ± 2-3 companies that control supply chains.

@fesshole I don’t understand why this is even a fess… of course you should do this, and if the supermarket chain loses a few of their multi-millions to unsold stale bread, maybe they’ll fix their supply chain issues!
