It looks like #Linux is finally winning the OS war, and #Windows is collapsing, becoming just another OS and not THE OS anymore. And it's all thanks to the stupid decisions of some managers to integrate experimental AI that isn't anywhere near ready for production into everything, forcing users to create Microsoft accounts, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-i8smkqKjY

@LordCaramac People that are forced to use Win11 at work hate it.

@SpaceLifeForm @LordCaramac @SpaceLifeFormI wouldn't call Linux having 4% of global desktop share winning. OTOH, there's 8% unknown, which may be at least half Linux. I haven't seen any gamer polls, but I have a feeling the market share there is way higher. As the world economy goes down the shitter, I think a lot of people with older hardware are going to switch to Linux. Also, as workplaces and govt. offices adopt it, more users will get comfortable using it and switch.https://www.procurri.com/knowledge-hub/global-os-market-share-2025-key-stats-trends-and-insights-for-mobile-and-desktop/

@SpaceLifeForm @LordCaramac The company I work for has about 20,000 employees around the world. We're now on Win 11, which I truly hate, but our supported version at least makes it possible to turn off their lame-ass AI implementation and keep it off through multiple updates.

@Spud_Coolzip @LordCaramac It may be more accurate to say that MS has messed up so badly that they will steadily lose market share.
