       omfg I just had an idea and I need to know if it will workSay I wanted to build a miniature set for a filmmaking thingy, but I didn't have the space, or the means to afford all the material, or the skill to paint and whatnot.Say I wanted to build the set digitally then, but I didn't have the skill to light it properly and really make it seem real and not-flat.Would it be possible to combine the two as follows:model the miniature digitallybuild the exact same shape, minus details, physically out of black cardboard and light itsomehow superimpose the image of the lit black cardboard miniature over the textured and detailed digital miniature and use that for lighting?If anyone has experience with this or knows enough about CGI and miniature to tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree or give me pointers – I'd love that.#AskFedi #VFX #CGI #Miniature
