Dear Lazyweb. I have quite the collection of #DeWalt XRP tools. They're currently useless. This is because a power surge took out my lithium XRP charger and these as far as I can tell are complete unobtainium. So, seeking advice on a non-DeWalt tool line to replace them with. I will, of course, be making adaptors. But I want to use batteries from a manufacturer that won't fuck me over like this so that as the tools die I can buy replacements from someone else.

@vik I like my Ryobi tools. Vast range, reasonably cheap, perform and last ok for my non-professional use. Good supply of third-party batteries.

@jonathanharker Yeah, checked TradMe. Lots of XR stuff. XRP are the professional version, much bigger battery pack format and totally incompatible. Yes, I can get an adaptor but I'll be buggered if I'm buying #DeWalt again.
