@zdl @hateaid @davidculley Early on I took these things seriously. At 67 I'm still here so not so much now. They are now themselves attacked … by the US regime in their global quest against "antifa(scism)". 😠This is too vague to make sense of. Who are they? Could you perhaps name the US "regime" you are referring to? Being inside the US I see little in the way of coherent organized actors here.'To ascribe power to some random threat is to allow an individual you don't even know to have control over you. I personally choose not to do this. The US fascists officially won't let them enter the USA anymore. The US nazis claim "censorship" as their justification. This is just the beginning.I do wish you could be more specific. I'm not aware of US Nazi's, my historical knowledge says that they were German in nature, and that after WW II many fled to Argentina and Brazil, but given the time that has passed since WW II ended, I would expect most are deceased by now.Or if you are simply referring to anyone who stops you from entering our country illegally, myself and a lot of my fellow citizens are of the belief that a country without borders is not a country. As to censorship, I don't understand how failure to allow your entry constitutes censorship. We do seem to have issues with European governments trying to extend their censorship to our borders by trying to enact laws governing our own social media interests on our own soil, and attempting to levy fines. This is immoral, illegal, and obviously flies like a lead balloon. The degree to which climate is a crisis is a matter of debate. I understand that some are not tolerant of opposing viewpoints and wish to censor them but this is not a constructive way to reach agreement or consensus.I would suggest a much greater immediate concern is the potential for running out of economically recoverable fossil fuels before we have functional replacements in place. Given our dependence upon fossil fuels for running farm equipment and transporting food to the market, this to me represents a much greater existential crisis than a few degrees of warming. But I don't see it as a point of contention necessarily because the correct response in other case is to bring new sustainable base load energy sources online as quickly as possible. This is a case where we don't have to agree on the condition of concern because the correction action is the same regardless. As the saying goes: Fascism is what white people call it when their governments eventually start doing to them what they've been doing to people of color all this time.I and most people don't define fascism on the basis of color. Fascism occurs when any group is oppressed or controlled. These days, everyone who talks about "freedom of speech" is a motherfucking asshole: a fascist, plain and simple, and/or just somebody too lazy a thinker to hear the dog whistle.I don't think the real problems of the world can be addressed without everyone's participation and that requires freedom of speech. And I don't really care if that makes your opinion of me to be a mother fucking asshole because your opinion does not define who or what I, or anyone else for that matter, is or am.
