My understanding is that the Julian calendar is objectively incorrect, but as far as we know the Orthodox church could have accidentally got closer to the actual date that the actual thing happened on, since December 25 was originally just made up to coincide with the Roman winter solstice and nobody really has any idea what the correct date is
