@Nonilex My child went through the Danish system. We walked out of the maternity ward with a pamphlet outlining the national vaccination programme. We received messages one month before every time a vaccine was due, strong recommendation at every doctor visit and our GP looked genuinely confused when we asked her about anyone not vaccinating their kids. This feels completely different from what the US gov is going for.

@Nonilex The health insurance is the main thing, I think. If these vaccines are no longer required or even recommended, insurance companies may stop covering them, so parents have to pay out of pocket. Which means less poor kids vaccinated.
