I have long been a sucker for wax stamps. I even had a sealing wax kit as a kid that I bought at a Hallmark store at the mall. What I always was my own wax seal, but it always seemed impossible. Then I saw a video from Skill Tree that was not only very easy, but also looked not bad for as simple as it is.I showed it to the 11yo, and she had two questions: was I going to make it, and could she have one.So I took my shot at it. It’s just some brass garden hose parts and some leather. Unlike the dude on the channel, I used the CNC to engrave my daughter’s initials. It was the first time I tried to engraving brass. I learned some things about the cnc. It cut through the metal pretty easily, but I hadn’t thought about the relationship between width and depth. It’s obvious if you think about it, but I just hadn’t.The next one I make is going to be more intricate. More like a coat of arms or something.https://youtu.be/hvVZgTdmK4g#maker #waxseals
