As a short person one of my pet peeves is when there is a social event and they have those "tall tables" that you stand around. Or if there is nowhere to sit down and you have to stand and talk to people. I'm seriously considering having a little step stool in my bag because talking in a circle while standing is so annoying. It's hard to hear people. It's hard to see their faces. If the whole room is full of people and it's a little dark then it's like being in a scary forest.

@futurebirdI'm willing to bet anyone over 6' flat who drives a car is brimming with empathy right now. Seriously, even mid sized pickups have seats seemingly designed for 5'5" folk. A solid argument can be made that sriving my wife's Crosstrek at only 6'1" is almost unsafe.

@futurebird Pulling out a foldable step stool and assembling it sounds like an extremely visual way of pointing out how dumb and inaccessible the design is

@futurebird I am fairly tall, and I am so sad when at standing social events with background noise, because I can't hear what the short people say and I want to hear and it feels condescending to bend too far down + my knees and back can't take it for too long. I want seats, in smaller groups not cinema seating, to be the norm. More accessible AND facilitates better communication and more human connection.
