Hey fedi, what do y'all think about the L-series #Thinkpad s? They are not listed in that famous used thinkpad buying guide, and I've found mixed opinions as to their quality vs price values.I've found some good (but not spectacular) deals on used ones, so just wondering whether to consider them next. Comments appreciated! #askfedi

I think some of the "L" ThinkPad models are a good value. I especially like that on the L15 and L14 Gen 1 and 2 that there are two memory slots and no memory is soldered to the motherboard. In contrast, I recently got a ThinkPad T15 Gen 1 with soldered memory that's failing. I can't sell it that way, so will have to replace the motherboard or keep it around for parts in hopes that I'll be able to use them someday. Costly loss and frustrating. #thinkPad #L15 #T15

@matthew thanks for your insights! I had not thought about this point about soldered RAM when checking themy. I also got an X1 carbon that I cannot upgrade for this reason.Shame on Lenovo for providing this disservice to its fans!
