Coroporate life: Why some people hate with passion those who have multiple professional certificates saying “usually people with several certs are not good in practice, can’t do anything real” or something like that?in other words: people either multiple certs must be careful and find ways to showcase practical skills to avoid such badmouthing: by project experience and by demonstrations via GitHub repos or videos ? What else? What do you think about this topic?

@CSB Get your certs, but nobody should even know what they are or that you even have them.

@CSB People with the time to get certification aren't busy enough. People who don't try to get certification aren't good enough. Catch-22.I look at how trivial or focused the list is, that's the real indicator.

@CSB@poa.st Yes there is a bias against "generalists" in tech at the middle-class level. If you're a CTO or CEO it's preferable to be well-rounded tho' in many cases.

@CSB Certificates are just as corrupt as colleges. People becoming an expert in a certification that's only relevant because the certification has existed for 20 years. Then you have cert whores pressing others to get them. IMHO, I'd take someone with experience they can talk to over some over lettered book smart person. Certs open some doors, and mostly favor those with time on their hands or those who live to do tech.

@CSB I wouldn't downplay someone with certs, but certs and no industry or personal experience isn't as valuable.
