The auto-chapters in 26.2 Apple Podcasts is really slick. I’ve had to now move Apple Podcasts icon to my Home Screen next to Castamatic for the podcasts I listen to that don’t provide their own chapters. It’s a game changer for about 6 hours of work related podcasts I listen to each week that I’m constantly fast forwarding through because of topics I’m not interested in.

@francosolerio I *think* it's server-side, but that's just a total guess. When you pull up the episode you see the transcript first, then you see the chapters pop up after a delay. That could mean it's device-side and the device is parsing the transcript with a local model? Really not sure.@tedhosmann would know, but not sure if he will be able to say publicly.

@dave @francosolerio @tedhosmann As I understand it, it's server side - both chapters and transcripts. They appear identical on MacOS and iPhone. Transcripts also don't transcribe portions of podcasts that are dynamic (such as adverts).

@dave I don’t do transcripts (Apple’s transcripts show), only chapter markers.
