Ohmies!Second kid is popping out spots and now my eldest is saying he doesn't feel good.My entire house is going to get the pox, it seems. As an anti-vaxxer, I accepted from the start that there would be a possibility that this would happen. This is going to be the first time I will have had to test my principles in this specific way; we have had none of the childhood menaces, so far.I don't regret anything. I am glad they are all going to get chicken pox over with, and were uninjected. As healthy kids, I expect them all to get over it easily and will be protected for life. Now, if i have accidentally spread it all over my community, there could be blowback--considering that my community is liberal and pro-injection believers in science juice.I guess we will see.....

Good luck. Our family growing up (at least the kids) all had chicken pox at the same time. Itchy, we had calamine lotion and oatmeal baths. Had one of my kids with chicken pox while visiting my sister. All still alive and no one in my family ever had shingles including parent.

By the way there are still folks that have chicken pox parties for the kids to get it over with. I always heard better to have it as a child than as an adult. If you think about it, they are right! Who better to take care of you than Mommy or Daddy!?

Stand firm: Both my kids had over 20 injections BEFORE the age of 2, and BOTH had an insane number of really bad allergies, and my 20 year old son is struggling to learn how to drive due to poor reflexes (which I attribute to vaccine injury). The people responsible for this policy should be lined up and shot.

Me and my siblings all had chicken pox as kids with no problems. My own kids have all had it as have most of their cousins, also with no problems. Community blowback sounds a much bigger problem…good luck!

Thank you Tony, I had it myself and it was no biggie. It is the blowback that most worries me, we are about to notify our small homeschool hybrid learning community, so they can make decisions about holidays etc.

I hope any blowback is within reason. People/Children get ill and it is typical for people to get ill in the winter/at the holidays. I went to visit a very good friend and I got ill while I was visiting. They took good care of me, but seriously I finally said to one of her comments "You know...nobody gets sick on purpose." I have been great friends with her since we were 13 and have shared pretty much all the cooties (joints, slugs of beer, rolled up bills...you get the picture) and she has become a complete germaphobe. I am so sick of it.

If they are unvaccinated then they made a choice and if they are vaccinated, why would anyone care if anyone has chicken pox. Just like my friend that takes all the jabs yet still gets the Rona...

Before Covid hit, I used to complain how the entire culture of figuring out who gave who what bug was new and completely neurotic and anti-social.

@Zardoz thank you for your courage in making the best decision for your children's health. I wish more people would stand up for their children like you have.

Thank you so much for that kind show of support. I really appreciate it as I am sure to face fear and loathing in the coming days as I am vocal in my anti-injection stance IRL. I tried to warn people about Covid injections, so everyone knows where I stand.

As a "Boomer," I had the chicken pox, like the majority of my kidergarten class. The only side affect (that I know of) is a small scar above my eyebrow from where I scratched the scab off. Hang in there Dad.

It is certainly a "thing." While I was sick - after I flew home, I got many text messages asking how I was and the updates of who else was sick and the "thankfully I am still ok" type of statements. That was in October. Only one "happy Thanksgiving" since. All while being barraged by texts from my stepdad about the various new strains of COVID and long COVID (because I said I was getting better, just tired) and on and on. Not a single text or call to just say hi/check in on me since. It's a mental illness.

This is my thinking too. The pox will muck up our holiday plans, and I am going to have to fend off the Wife's family who will think I'm to blame for the situation and our stubborn refusal of injections.I'm going to hear about it, guaranteed.

@Zardoz @iamcatness If you and your wife are immune, then your kids got it from someone else, end of story. Checkmate. Which one of the accusatory bitches has chicken pox? J'accuse toi!"I guess you're lying about being vaccinated then!"Turn it up to 11 and get heads to explode.Best defense is a good offense.
